A Reverie
She was eerily nervous for God knows why? This wasn’t the first time
they were going to be together but still the nervousness took over as if it was
going to be her first date with him. It still was not less than a first date.
Every time they met, was an all-new experience for her making her fall in love
all over again each time with a new aspect. For her love for him was as fresh
as the chilly morning breeze. She’d been dancing in front of the mirror
since morning trying everything from her wardrobe and when everything failed to
score the marks of her satisfaction, she went shopping. She bought a black and
grey off shoulder Madame top to please him, kohl eyeliner and mascara to have
him lost in the brightness of her eyes and lip gloss to make him feel the
tenderness of her lips. It took her another two hours to convince herself that
she looked beautiful. She, believe me, looked like a fairy in all her
black attire. The black contrast with her snow white velvet skin was … was
to have you covet for the colour blindness that you’d never wish to see any
other colour. Those two colours never looked so better before. Her
kohl eyes were a sight to die for; they were so hypnotically alluring and
expressive that you could talk to her eyes only for hours without getting
distracted. Her long black as raven feathers hair that reached up to her waist
that kept falling on her face made her look a lot more cuter and adorable. The
collar bone that her off shoulder teasingly left visible added all the more
sexiness. She looked divinely beautiful.
She saw him walk towards her with steady and delicate steps making her,
once again, realise how deeply and madly she was in love with him. Yet again,
his sight made her fall deeper in love with him and with herself to have found her
love in him. In his black and blue checked shirt and loosely fitted rugged dark
blue jeans with his hands in pockets that barely could keep it from tumbling
off his thin wiry waist, he still was sight to behold for her. He stood
endurably tall but enough to have her rise on her toes to kiss him. His hair,
as always, were messy. Emotions, as usual, failed to make their presence felt
on his face as if his heart had turned off the lights on the road to his face.
He was imperfect in every possible way. He was just someone with a look that’d
not be winked at even amid the clique of people. But he was impeccable for her.
The feeling that his love made her felt was beyond perfection and inexplicable.
With every step he took towards her, her heart missed a beat. Her beat
rate had been decreasing since she caught his glimpse which eventually came to
cease when he was just inches away, noticing and studying every details of her.
She saw him noticing her eyes, her glossed lip and she felt a sudden change in
his expression as if coveting for a kiss. She saw him noticing her collar bone
which made her nervousness rise to its peak and she felt weak at her knees. She
felt butterflies tingling in her stomach and in heart. He gave a tender peck on
her cheeks and hugged her. She knew what this meant. He obviously loved the way
she looked and had dressed only for him. She knew he loved and would love her
forever.
She heard someone snapping the fingers in her ears bringing her back to
the reality out of her reverie. She realised she’d been dreaming all the while
and suddenly she felt sad. It was so perfectly beautiful there with their
impeccable love. She wanted to go back to her dream but she knew she couldn’t.
She saw him standing there with impassive face and sore eyes. He looked
different. In spite of knowing him for more than eight years, she thought he
wasn’t the one she had known for so long. He looked like a stranger.
